Welcome to Michigan Money Game
Welcome to Michigan Money Game where it is all about the money. As Michigan's bloated government grows larger and the citizen population shrinks look for even more taxes and user fees to be levied against us that are still stupid enough to be here.

Unions all over Michigan are mounting all out attacks on the Right to Work Law being presented before Michigan voters. Unions say the law is bad for Michigan but who really is it bad for? The unions would stand to lose millions of dollars and thousands of forced to join members by not being able to force them to join their unions and pay dues so they could acquire jobs at many companies. So really how is this bad for anyone except the unions. Citizens should have the right to choose whether they want a job with or without having to pay the union extortion fees.

Politics : Slave or Prostitute
on 2008/1/22 13:43:43 (46 reads)

As I sat and watched the US House of Represenitives pass their bullshit pet bills and pat each other on the back one bill especially caught my attention, the Commission on Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Represenitives think the people needed to be educated and reminded of the abolishment of the slave trade 200 years ago.{Represenitves evidently think schools and History teachers are too stupid or incompetent to do it}

For me it was a really big laugh for I knew slavery wasn't abolished, it was just expanded to include almost all the US citizens and businesses. Oh yes, citizens and businesses are definitely slaves. Where slaves used to have one master now they had three, Federal, State and Local Governments. Three that control all aspects of their lives, choices, money and property. Masters that took their pay, took their property, decided what was good for them, decided what they could do, decided what they couldn't do and made them pay for all their god given rights which are now Government's {privileges}. Yes driving, earning a living, starting a business, fishing, hunting, building a home, raising your children, using property and many more, they are all {privileges} you must pay for! Privileges that once were Constitutional Rights before Governments became the powerful masters.

Those of you who don't agree completely with me might just say we are all really just prostitutes working for the pimp {government} and not slaves. Maybe you are right but either way I think I would rather be my own person. No matter, prostitute or slave, it's about time for a change back to the Constitution or The Bill Of Rights for I don't feel that proud of being labeled either.

Tax News : Michigan Business Tax
on 2007/12/1 11:30:00 (59 reads)

In what has become the typical modus operandi, the Legislature has decided to act late. Today {Saturday Dec 1st} at 3:30 the House is to go into session and pass a single bill to repeal the service tax which took effect last night and replace it with a capped surcharge on MBT liability to any business that pays it.

Effective immediately, any business that generates over $350,000 in business activity, will have to calculate its Michigan Business Tax liability and then add 22% to that bill. Over 60,000 businesses in this state will see their tax bill, the MBT, go up by 22%. Large corporations will get a break because the maximum liability on the surcharge will be capped at $6 million.

Remember last year when we repealed the Single Business Tax? The governor said the replacement for the SBT had to be "revenue neutral". The Legislature produced the MBT as a replacement, which economists and analysts are now saying will produce more revenue than the SBT. Guess what? It's a moot point because the governor, aided by her Democrat legislators, and with the help of some Republicans as well, has just pulled off a 22% tax increase to virtually every business in the state.

The good news: you won't die by firing squad. The bad news: you may die of suffocation. Over time many businesses are going to find it hard to breathe...

I will be blogging from the House floor with updates. Read here.

Jack Hoogendyk

Politics : Libertarian Party

In 2008 look for the Libertarian Party to make drastic inroads in the political world as citizens vent their anger at the Democratic and Republican parties that are selling out their rights and doing nothing to curb big government spending.

Would you buy a pair of shoes if you had no feet? Would you buy a pair of gloves if you had no hands? Would you buy an umbrella where it never rained? Would you pay for coal if you heated with natural gas?
